The Project consists, in general, of tidal marsh habitat restoration and public access improvements on approximately 114 acres of City of Eureka owned property located north and south of Elk River bound by Pound Road, Highway 101, Tooby Road and Humboldt Bay. The work generally includes vegetation clearing, grubbing, invasive plant species removal, soil excavation, transport, placement, and grading of excavated materials on a marsh plain to construct estuary tidal channels, shallow wetlands, habitat fills, and upland berms. Construction of approximately one-mile Class 1 multi-use trail, related drainage improvements, seed/mulch, all environmental protection BMP’s and related permit conditions.
A mandatory pre-project meeting is scheduled for Mar 22, 2022 - 1:00 pm
In-person pre-project meeting will take place on March 22, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Herrick Ave. Park & Ride, located at the south end of Eureka off of HWY 101.
