Have you noticed anything different about US 101 also known as Broadway through Eureka? Caltrans has installed its first ever “pop-up demonstration!”
Caltrans and partners have been working toward implementing the vision laid out in the Broadway Multimodal Corridor Plan, and are now testing out some proposed improvements.

The Broadway Pop-Up Demonstrations use temporary materials such as cone-like delineators and paint to test proposed improvements such as protected bike lanes, curb extensions and traffic-calming features. The pop-up will be up for about a month.
The projects under development are intended to enhance safety for all road users, improve connections to local roads, and improve access for pedestrians and cyclists - making walking and bicycling a more enjoyable experience on Broadway.
Feedback will be used to adjust project designs before permanent construction. Tell Caltrans what you think or visit broadwaypopups.com for more information.
