The Political Reform Act (Gov. Code Section 81000-91014) requires designated state and local government official and employees to publicly disclose their personal assets and income using a Statement of Economic Interest form (Form 700). Form 700s are public documents. Any member of the public may inspect and obtain a copy of any statement. Please refer to the Reference Pamphlet explaining requirements for 87200 Filers (Mayor, Councilmembers, Planning Commissioners, City Attorney, Chief Operating Officer and City Treasurer)
The Political Reform Act also requires every local government agency to review its conflict of interest code every 2 years. A conflict of interest code tells public officials, governmental employees and consultants what financial interest they must disclose on their Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700)
