Crisis Alternative Response Eureka

Crisis Alternative Response of Eureka, a.k.a CARE

Compassionately providing Eureka with community based, high-quality, easy-access mental health and substance use mobile crisis services.

The City of Eureka is excited to introduce the Crisis Alternative Response of Eureka program. This program will work with Eureka Police Department, EPD’s Community Safety Engagement Team, and UPLIFT to ensure appropriate mental health crisis intervention and treatment is available within the community. The program’s team will include mental health clinicians and case managers who will respond to 9-1-1 calls that require mental health crisis intervention, as well as provide patient advocacy and support throughout the process of accessing mental healthcare to those who are in need of it.  They will also provide proactive engagement to members of the community determined to be at risk for requiring emergency services by community partners. CARE will operate in collaboration with and independent of Eureka Police Department to provide high-quality, low-barrier mental health services throughout the City of Eureka. The intention of this program is to reduce barriers to treatment for at-risk individuals and ensure treatment continues beyond the initial point of contact during crisis intervention. Please view the CARE program description for a full account.
